Just a quick note, the reason why metal is not good in a microwave is because of the reflective properties. When the microwaves hit the metal, it causes them to reflect and thus causes the problems. These bowls have a ceramic coating on the metal to eliminate the reflections, but also the lid completely seals off the metal from the microwaves and this is what allows you to use safely in the microwave.
Please note: Always make sure you have the lid on good and tight before putting these bowls in the microwave.
